Hourly Rates (August 1, 2010 - July 31, 2011)
Academic and Non-profit Users
Users from the University of Arizona and other regular users
Once per year in August or early September we solicit voluntary contributions from our on-campus and regular academic users to offset annual operational expenses. The amount contributed per user is proportional to the number of hours they used in the previous 12 months. For most students, contributions are made by their research advisor. Rates vary with actual costs and overall usage each year but usually range from $10 - $15 per hour.
Visitors and Special Situations
For infrequent academic visitors and users with special situations (usually expiring grants) we can send an invoice for hours used more often than once per year. The rate is determined from the projected costs and overall usage for the current year. The current rate for this option is $14 per hour.
Industrial and Commercial Users
The current rate for industrial and commercial users is $200 per hour.
Sample Analysis and Preparation
By prior arrangement, for special situations, sample analysis and sample preparation can be performed by the lab for an additional $30 per hour.
