Important News!

We will be getting a new electron microprobe! We expect it to be in operation by early next year. The current CAMECA SX50 will also remain in operation.

The Lab will be closed for renovation between September 12th and November 1st.

We may be able to operate for a few brief periods during that time depending on how the construction is progressing.

The University of Arizona Electron Microprobe Laboratory is equipped with a CAMECA SX50 electron probe microanalyzer (EPMA) that performs rapid, non-destructive chemical analysis of solid samples. Its capabilities include:

The facility is open to academic users from all departments of the University of Arizona as well as to visitors from other schools, universities, non-profit organizations, government agencies, and local businesses.
