The HiPlan Shapes package contains classes that are oriented around drawing shapes in and/or as JMARS layers.
To use the HiPlan Shapes package, an operator's jmars.config must be modified slightly. Add the following line to the file:

The key, the portion after shape.featurefactory, is arbitrary, but should be chosen to be unique. The feature providers are ordered in the shape layer's Load menu alphabetically according to the key, not the value of the key.
