Using the Mouse

Summary:

Use the left mouse button to select items from the Pull-down Menu at the top of the SAOtng display.
Use the left mouse button to execute the command buttons at the left of the SAOtng display.
Within the SAOtng display, use the left mouse button to manipulate regions, the middle button to control panning and zooming, and the right button to control contrast/bias.
Within the SAOtng display, press the Shift key and middle mouse button at the same time to activate the cross-hair cursor.
Within the SAOtng display, press the Shift key and left mouse button twice to select a point on the image. When a point is selected, the Redisplay Image menu option will retrieve and redisplay a new section of the image centered on this point. Press these two keys three times in succession to select a point and retrieve and redisplay a new section of the image. (This feature is especially useful when you have displayed a full image at reduced zoom and want to select and display a particular section. It is assumed that the currently displayed image is only part of the full image on disk; otherwise no new section extraction is performed.) Press these two keys once to unselect the current mouse position.
Clicking a mouse button means depressing and releasing the button with no mouse movement.
Clicking and Dragging a mouse button means depressing the button, moving the mouse, and then releasing the button.
