This acrylic painting was completed in August 1995 depicts the Apollo 17 launch from the Taurus-Littrow valley, completing mankinds first series of lunar explorations. A video camera on the lunar rover which is visible just to the left of the Lunar Module "Challenger" was used to image the liftoff, but it only viewed the back of the LM as it lifted off.
