What would it be like to be on an Earth-like planet orbiting a gas giant like Jupiter or Saturn? This painting is dedicated to my late friend David Allen Harvey who was about 200 feet away when I took the photo of the Moon rising over Tucson from the flanks of A Mountain that this painting is based on (and we didn't realize it until we saw each others photos on our blogs a few days later). While the city is Tucson as it appeared in January 2011, I made no assumptions about it actually being Earth - I imagine this is a world with beings of about our technological capability who can build buildings like we do and can enjoy the view of celestial phenomena in their skies like we do.

The painting was completed on May 4, 2013. It is a 16 by 20 inch acrylic on canvas.
