Grand Canyon in a day

Our fellow researcher Jean-Marc was in from France for a few weeks the summer of 1996, so Paul decided a hike was in order. Since it was too late for reservations in the Canyon, we decided what the heck, we'd just walk it rim to rim in a day. Paul's son Rudy agreed to go too.

This is the infamous "Box" in the bottom of the canyon, as seen from the north rim.
This is looking down the start of the South Kaibab trail.
At the river, 6:30 AM. Around 14 miles to go.

Then, up to the North rim..
