Getting ready to start at the trailhead parking lot. (Rick, Joe & Colin)

We reach the river.
|
| |
The whole hike was beautiful and green.
|
| |
|
| |
|
| |
A lot of the hike was wading through very shallow water like this.

Crazy cobwebs.

I've concluded that all hiking hats are goofy and decided to embrace that.

Group shot!

I think I took this on my screw-on walking stick / tripod.

Walls of the canyon across from our cammpsite.

Great bunches of stuff had been washed up against trees and piled there during floods.

On the second day, we took a day hike into one of the side canyons, Horse Camp Canyon.

View into the side canyon.

All these cracks in the canyon walls were leaking water, and most of them had things growing out of them.

Cute little plants in holes!

Farther up the canyon, the water had carved all these beautiful pools and curved surfaces.
|
| |
We spent a lot of time looking at the pools and all the living things growing in them.

Weird-textured rock (and the tip of my walking stick for scale).
|
| |
|
| |
|

Here it looks like I was taking pictures of the cool pools, but I was actually trying to catch a big, bright red dragon fly in flight (which is impossible, by the way).
|
| |
|
| |
|
| |
|
| |
I finally caught one! (It was sitting still.)
