PIRL has obtained multiple licenses to three Adobe products, "Photoshop" version 3.0.1, "Illustrator" version 5.5, and "FrameMaker", version 5. These applications are available on the Solaris systems only.
These packages are for image creation and manipulation, page layout and design, and document preparation respectively. As well as these three packages, we have Acrobat Exchange, for creating and reading Adobe acrobat (pdf) files, Acrobat reader, for reading adobe Acrobat files, Frame Reader, for reading FrameMaker documents, and "showps", Adobe's package for reading and displaying PostScript files. We also have international versions of FrameMaker and FrameReader, which can be run by specifying the language to use.
Utilize the following commands for accessing the aforementioned packages on any of the PIRL Solaris systems:
Documentation for Adobe Photoshop is available in the PIRL user room. Copies of a quick reference card, user manual and tutorial are available.
Use "acroread" to view the documentation for this package (They are in Acrobat PDF format).
On-line documentation and a tutorial for Illustrator can be found in the following locations:

Documentation for FrameMaker and FrameReader is built into the applications. You can access it by clicking the "help" button in the top level window after starting each application.
Paper documentation, as well as a FrameMaker "pocket guide", are available in the PIRL user room.
Local expertise for Adobe Illustrator has not been developed yet. We encourage you to explore its capabilities.
