Fig. 16. Wide, low lineaments with bilateral symmetry and a central groove

Several dilational features have the width and general low elevation of a band, but locally include elevated, symmetrical ridge-like structures, sometimes including a central groove. (a) This lineament, located in the northern portion of the trailing side (E15 orbit) shows very strong symmetry, plus bordering ridges. (b) The central ridge-pair and groove in this prominent lineament located in the northern portion of the trailing side (E15 orbit) seem to be less pronounced in the wider parts of the structure. (c) This wide lineament near Conamara Chaos, disrupted by right-lateral strike-slip faults, exhibits a symmetrical pattern of flanking ridges outboard of a central ridge-pair.
